    Protecting the Environment is important to Van-KIRAP

    The The Vanuatu Klaemaet Infomesen blong Redy, Adapt mo Protekt (Van-KIRAP) project conducted a training workshop in March 2019; to develop an Environment and Social Safeguards Plan (ESSMP).

    The Van-KIRAP Environment and Social Safeguards Plan is a Green Climate Fund (GCF) and SPREP requirement that the project activities to be looked at through environmental and social lenses to see how the Van-KIRAP project can contribute to improved environmental and social management in Vanuatu and ensure no harm is caused.

    18 August, 2017, Honiara, Solomon Islands, PMC-4 –Solomon Islands Deputy Prime Minister Manasseh Maelanga has suggested a Pacific ‘self-sustaining trust fund’ to support the work of National Meteorology and Hydrology Services (NMHSs) in the region.

    Maelanga made the statement today while opening the Second Pacific Ministerial Ministers Meeting (PMMM-2) on Meteorology, in Honiara.
